J. Michael Flanagan

J. Michael Flanagan is a partner in the law firm of Flanagan, Unger, Grover and McCool located in Glendale, California.

Education:

Flanagan attended USC, earning a B.S. degree in 1965, an M.B.A. in 1968,  and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD) in 1969.  He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1970 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973.

Affiliations:

Mr. Flanagan  is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, California Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Criminal Courts Bar Association where he was a member of the Board of Trustees from 1980-1983.  He was president of the Glendale Bar Association during 1984-1985.

“This trial could end up being a trial of medical practice,” he said. “The question is what discretion does a doctor have to treat a patient, and if a doctor makes a mistake, is it a crime?”
